Blessed
Hello Hi
We have been so blessed on this trip with so many rad memories and we have met a lot of cool people along the way,
It has been amazing to see how Son Skate is growing all over the country and also how much faith these guys have.
It really opens your eyes to the great things that God can do when you remain faithful to him.
I just thought i'd post a pic i shot of a grom who we spoke with and had a session at the park with I dont know his name he just said we can call him Sponge haha.
We made 5l of ginger beer. so what?

Day ..... in J bay
Oh what is up guys? Hope everyone is having a good holiday and having as much fun as us.
So I guess i'll give you a little update on our trip. So we started of with 25 Skaters Bibles that some of the people at Edenvale Baptist Church helped us raise funds for (Thanks) and we were able to hand out 20 so far to some super cool kids we met along the way and had some cool conversations with and we also handed some out as prizes at the Son Skate Nationals.
So a big big thanks to everyone who helped us raise funds for the bibles and to Edenvale Baptist Church for making it posible to do this trip, God is truely working in the riding community in South Africa. Boom
And we are having a super good time here in J bay and I (Shannon) had the best day playing with this little seal guy I found at the beach today. TOO TOO STOKED
We love Ginger Ale.

Day 4,5,6 Stellenbosch
Sorry about the lack of bloggage but due to a lack of internet we have not been able to update our stuffs.
So yea we have had a really good time in Stellenbosch and it was really cool seeing our good friend Chris who runs the Son Skate club down here and also allowed us to sleep in the skate park for the duration of our stay.
Pretty much day one we arrived here and got settled and rested for the weekend ahead, helping prep the park for the Son Skate Nationals which ended up being quite a mission in itself resulting in Chris and Don working on the new quarter we were building till 3 am while I (Shannon) passed out at about 1(perks of the job).
Alas, the new quarter is large(ly awesome) and probably being thoroughly utilized as we speak, or as we type...or as you read - Thats probably the most accurate.
So this morning, after coffee, we decided to leave early for Jbay...2 days early.
We're not really sure if all this impulsiveness is a good thing but it seems pretty good because right now I'm watching Shannon(this is Don now btw) load is spear gun in a sweet house in Jbay. Good times.
Of course the spear gun was only bought as a mean to seek revenge on the sand crabs that snipped Me and Shannon's feet in Strand. We'll maintain that revenge is bad...probably because we could find any after purchasing the speargun. Oh well.
So yeah, thanks to Snoek and Sam for the accomodation and to God for an awesome road trip so far...and to Brad and Vicky for the tacos, mmmmmmmm.

Day 1 Stellenbosch
We woke up this morning to various sounds. Some familiar, like the rolling of wheels on concrete, and others, not so familiar, like someone trying to demolish a wall that we just happened to be sleeping next to. Needless to say, we were keen to get some breakfast as far from that sound as we possibly could.
After the cheapest Breaki ever at the Stellenbosch student centre, we decided to hit the beach. I know what you're thinking - "Stellenbosch has no beach!" and furthermore "Aren't you guys on a mission trip?" Well, your statement is true. We drove to Strand and had the greatest swim ever in very appropriate heat. As for your question, the photo consists of the proud new owner of a Revolution Skateboard and a Skaters Bible. This little tyke's old board was stolen so instead of relying on manifestation through the power of "the secret" (which in case you didnt notice does not deserve a higher case 'S'), we decided to hook the kid up with a board, trucks, wheels and a bible.
So all in all, it was a great day.
Dont you judge me...

Captains blog
Ok here it goes, so our plan was to leave for JBay from Durban at 5am Tuesday morning for a one night stop over before driving through to Stellenbosch for the Son Skate Nationals. That however did not happen.
We randomly decided to leave 6 hours earlier out of the utter impatience of waiting for the morning.
So we drove through the night...for 12 hours.
We were greeted in Jbay by Bradley Jones and his very pregnant wife, Vicky - who makes a killer peppermint tart by the way. After some well needed rest was had and with our tummies filled with good food, we departed for Stellenbosch.
'Twas a good drive filled with fun, excitement, great scenery and as always, very long roads but alas, we arrived in Stellies. Thanks to Simon Christoffel Jacobus van der Merwe for letting us sleep in the skatepark. It really is a fantastic place to stay.
See you later.
